I went to Arujo on the above recommendations and, I'm pleased to say, they weren't exaggerating! It's quite a well-stocked shop (but not overcrowded) with a good selection of organic fruit & veg, plus all the staples for a vegan diet and a large cleaning and toiletries section. The staff are very friendly, full of advice and interested in their customers, and even recognised us on our second ever visit!
A handy tip at the moment: they have a promotion with Bags of Change, which gives you a 5% discount on your shop if you carry a Bags of Change bag (and you can buy one there, of course).

I regularly used to drive past a sign for Arujo in Twyford - but as it was a bit off my normal route, I never visited.
Arujo has since moved premises to Deddington - and I am pleased to say I finally paid them a visit about 5 weeks ago. Chris was friendly and informative, and the shop was well stocked considering they had only just moved. I purchased some Runner Beans - I had been craving them for a while but refuse to buy Runner Beans from Kenya from the supermarket!!! Obviously they were more expensive - but they tasted fantastic! I can recommend Arujo, worth a visit any time - but the Farmers Market is also good in Deddington, so combine a visit to the two! Yo wont be dissapointed. I am sure on my next visit I will have more to write!

"Arujo Organics - what a find! It's slightly off the beaten track, but, once you've found it, you'll never forget where it is! Chris is a really friendly bloke. He will always try to get things in for you (if he doesn't already stock it) - don't be afraid to ask! And, now, Arujo have started up a delivery service, so you can get your groceries delivered to your door. It's fantastic. The veg box scheme is excellent - a good variety of seasonal veg - a real treat every week. Arujo relies on "word of mouth" due to it's "off-the-beaten-track" location, so lets start here - everyone interested in vegetarian / vegan /organic / green products - please visit Arujo Oganics in Twyford!"

"This shop is really special with friendly and efficient service. The Ecover re-fill station is a particular draw for me along with other eco-friendly products such as bio-degradable bin-liners and paper bags for sandwiches."

"I'm so glad I found Arujo! They have a great selection of organic products including non-dairy items for people like me. The veggie-box service is really simple to use and the Ecover refill station is so useful. Long live local shops!"

"So pleased to have a local organic shop, it's so easy to park no need to go to the town and find parking! Besides the parking the customer services are brilliant too, if you are looking for something that is not stocked they will do their best to order it in for you and are happy to give you advice. I would much rather support a local shop than the big super markets. I hope they are here to stay!"

"At last a shop close to my home & heart selling already familiar Ecover & similar products with the added bonus of the refill station, such a treat to the pocket & the environment. Plus new tasty treats like the wonderful organic ice cream (elderflower a personal favourite) and great to see my local Dairy (North Aston Dairy) selling their exquisite organic milk which is the best you'll ever taste, (delivered to your door in the Deddington area) alongside their vegetable boxes. If you drink milk you MUST buy local in order to keep our dairy farmers on the land in our country: 'No farmers = no countryside'. So rush to Arujo and support our local suppliers and do yourself a favour too!"

"What a great shop! A highly deserved recommendation and one that I hope will encourage more people to visit this fabulous but out of the way store. It's ironic that this vegetarian shop should be on the site of the old butchers but it's great to see local shops re-opening instead of closing. The 10% off vouchers and late opening are brilliant as is Chris who I have to pass on a special thanks for letting me owe him 35p! Unofficial credit is the hallmark of a true neighbourhood shop!"

"A lovely well stocked shop with helpful and knowledgeable Chris on hand to advise. I love the 'washing machine eco-balls' - amazing value for money as there's usually a load on every day - so convenient and mess-free. The Ecover refill station is also a great idea. Plus...check out the scrummy chocolate!! What more does a busy mother need?"

"Shopping at Arujo is a really refreshing experience with a personal touch. Chris' friendliness and willingness to stock a particular item that you may be looking for reminds me of why we should all support our local, small businesses. We should not forget the pleasure of shopping where you can enjoy passing the time of day, as well as having some influence over what is sold in this day and age of large, faceless corporate chains. Well worth the shopping experience!"

"Always a pleasure to go to Arujo, Chris always greets you with a friendly smile as you walk into the shop..and is a mind of information, he is happy to talk about any of the products that the shop stocks.. i have to say the orange and geranium organic chocolate is very yummy!! comes in handy when i need an energy surge before or after treating a client to a masssage in holistic centre which is situated to the side of the shop."

"An Aladins cave of all things organic! The owner Chris has worked hard in the short time the shop has been open to build a well deserved reputation for friendly knowledgeable service. The Ecover refill station is brilliant, but do not leave without having a browse around the store. I can guarantee you will find something more to tempt you. Look out for the "themed" evenings as well, entertaining, educational and a great atmosphere."

"I would just like to say my 2 year old son will not eat Veg at all. This is the first time I have used Arujo & after using some of the Organic Veg from the box today to make my sons lunch he eat it all up, I was over the moon & will be using them all the time from now on. Chris seems a friendly & helpful person. What I also like is they deliver to your door. I will be recomending them to my friends & family".

"There is a local organic food shop, Arujo Organics literally a few doors down the road, which sells all sorts of fantastic food and home products (lots of Fairtrade chocolate and even a dairy-free chocolate spread that is absolutely gorgeous!), and even nappies that are 100% biodegradable. We've subscribed to the veg box and fruit bag services, so every week we get a box with all sorts of locally grown veggies and fairtrade fruits. It's way more fun to see real carrots with knobbly bits and bendy bits, and they taste fantastic. The variety of veggies is great, and if you get stuck for recipes, there's always the vegbox-recipes site."

"I came in earlier today for the first time; it will certainly not be the last! What a lovely friendly shop, and such a good selection of goods."

"This has to be the find of the year! A family run shop in Adderbury that has only been open a few months. The owner Chris, knows everything there is to know on organics and the local area. What Chris doesn't know about organic and ethical, is not worth knowing. I enjoy going to the shop, not only to get my supplies but also to pick his brains with whatever it is I am trying to find out about that day. You can order online on their website, but visiting the shop is so much better."
Green Dolly - February 2007 (TheBestOf/Banbury)

"I need to buy some unusual items for my father who is on a special diet for health reasons. Chris has been more than willing to try to source anything that he doesn't already stock and has been an excellent source of advice and information. All done with a sincerity and warmth that you rarely find. I wish there were many more outlets like this available. I would never visit a supermarket again."
