This week, to celebrate 400 years of the Banbury Charter, we will be joined by local catering business Pudding Pie who will be officially launching and offering tastings of their delicious Banbury Tarts. 

No-one has actually made Banbury Tarts commercially for many years, which means another piece of Banbury's history had disappeared !! Well, Pudding Pie are bringing them back. Using a recipe from the early 1900's with references dating back to the 1700's, Ilja Harvey from Pudding Pie decided to make some of these Tarts for friends, family and colleagues, to see what they were like.

Everyone loved them, served with some whipped cream with a sprinkle of cinnamon, they were quite unlike anything on the market today. The Tarts are quite versatile and can be eaten as part of the afternoon tea served cold or warmed, but also as a dessert, delicious with vanilla ice cream or even traditional custard. How will you eat yours?
